What is an anorak?

 

There are many sites on the web that celebrate the era of the offshore radio stations, with photos, histories of various stations, DJ profiles, etc.  This site, hosted in Arizona, USA, was created to be an archive of off-air recordings of the stations themselves, and of the best known station ~ Radio Caroline ~ in particular.  Hence, there are no fancy graphics, just a wealth of archive recordings available for easy download through your browser.

 

Note:  All the recordings have been provided by the members of the “RadioCarolineMailingList” group on Yahoo! Groups, and are from their own private collections.

 

If you want to browse our archives, here is where you'll find what:

pub - the main archive of recordings sorted by category.

new - material that has been uploaded recently, usually in the last few weeks.

software - if you need codecs to play ogg vorbis or video files.

 

Alternatively, if you’re looking for something specific, you can try searching for it here:

 

 

To download a file using Firefox (recommended), simply left click once on a file link, and a window will open asking you whether you want to save or open the file.

 

To download a file using IE7, right click on a file link and choose "Save Target As".

 

New recordings are added regularly, but are only publicized on the above Yahoo! Group.  If you find the material here interesting, it is strongly recommended that you join that Group, to keep abreast of our updates.  To do so, go to:

Of course, Radio Caroline continues to this day, broadcasting 24x7 from studios in Maidstone, England.  From 7am – Midnight (UK time), most shows are presented live.  To listen live or to see a current programme schedule, click on the banner at the top of this page.

 

Neither this site, nor the above mentioned Yahoo! Group, are officially connected with Radio Caroline in any way.  They are both the continuing works of the very loyal and dedicated fans of the station.
